These are the pet food companies we purchase from and recommend to feed your pets. We are treating the recent pet food recalls with the utmost seriosness and are taking every precaution to keep your pets safe and you informed.

Our shelves have not been stocked with any of the recently recalled foods, however, two companies we buy from have issued a recall on other foods they sell.

Please check the lists below to learn more about the foods we carry:

 

Royal Canin

None of the Royal Canin foods we carry are involved in the recent recalls, however the company has informed us of other products they are recalling:

Royal Canin Sensible Choice formulas:

  • Chicken Meal & Rice Formula Senior
  • Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Puppy
  • Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Adult
  • Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Senior
  • Rice & Catfish Meal Formula Adult

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet formulas:

  • Canine Early Cardiac EC 22
  • Canine Skin Support SS21
  • Feline Hypoallergenic HP23

Royal Canin has recalled these products regardless of the date manufactured, however all products with an expiration date of April 19, 2008 are made without Chinese sourced vegetable proteins and are safe.

All other Royal Canin diets carried at Murrayhill Veterinary Hospital are not involved in the recent recall, and are safe to feed your pet.

Hill's Presciption Diet

Hill's is voluntarily recalling a single product:

  • Prescription Diet™ m/d™ Feline dry food

This recall applies to all lot numbers, in 4-pound and 10-pound bags. Canned versions of m/d are not included in the recall.

Hill's is recalling m/d at this time because it contains suspect wheat gluten.

None of the other Prescription Diet products carried at Murrayhill Veterinary Hospital are involved in the recent recalls, and are safe to feed your pet.

Hill's Science Diet

None of the Science Diet products we carry are involved in the recent pet food recalls.

Currently, we only stock one Science Diet food, Hairball Control for Adult Cats, which is safe to feed your cat.

Eukanuba

None of the Eukanuba Veterinary Diets we stock are involved with the recent food recalls.

Purina Veterinary Diets

None of the Purina Veterinary Diets are involved in the recent food recalls

We normally stock JM, NF, HA, OM, EN and others, all of which are safe to feed your pet.

Purine Pro Plan

Our only Pro Plan item is not involved in the recent pet food recalls:

  • feline, canned Adult Sardines & Tuna Entree (3oz.)

Wellness

None of the Wellness Brand pet foods have been involved with the recent food recalls.

Wellness canine and feline products are high-end pet foods, based on expensive and heavily controlled ingredients (no wheat gluten or rice protein). We've found that pets are far less likely to be allergic to Wellness foods, and also digest these diets better.

Greenies

Greenies are not involved in the recent pet food recalls, and are safe.

These are a popular treat we stock for both dogs and cats. They are manufactured by S&M NuTec who receives all of their corn, soy and wheat gluten supplies from North America and not China. They also do not include rice gluten from the foreign suppliers linked to the recall.

Please feed only the new canine GREENIE treats that have been reformulated for better digestability

Lean Treats

Nutrisentials Lean Treats products by Butler Animal Health Supply are not involved in the recent food recalls, and are safe to feed your pet.

Lean Treats for dogs and cats are another popular treat we carry. The ingredients are exclusive, and the treats are only available through veterinarians.
